The participation of dietitians is at the heart of self-governance and essential in assuring that professional standards and all College programs and activities align with current, ethical and safe dietetic practice for public protection. 

Outgoing Council Members

Council is composed of eight elected Registered Dietitians and 5 – 8 government appointed members of the public who work together to govern the College, provide leadership and create policy for the provision of safe, ethical and competent dietetic services.

Claudine Wilson was appointed to the College Council as a public member for two terms, from April 2013 to April 2019. During this time, she served on the Registration Committee and was Chair of the Discipline and Fitness to Practice Committees.

Deion Weir RD was elected to Council in June 2016 and served one term to June 2019. She served as President of the College and Chair of the Executive Committee. Throughout her tenure, she served on the Quality Assurance, Discipline and Fitness to Practice Committees. She also served on the Audit Committee and the Registrar & Executive Director Performance and Compensation Review Committee.

Williams Franks RD was a Councillor from June 2017 to June 2019 and, during this time, he served on the Registration, Patient Relations, Discipline and Fitness to Practice Committees.

Roula Tzianetas RD was elected to Council in June 2016 and served one term to June 2019. During this time, she worked on the Registration, Patient Relations, Discipline and Fitness to Practice Committees.

Ruki Kondaj was appointed to the College as a public member for one term, from March 2016 to March 2019. During her tenure, she served on several committees including Quality Assurance, Registration, Patient Relations, Discipline, Fitness to Practice and the Inquiries, Complaints & Reports Committee.

Suzanne Obiorah RD was elected to Council from June 2014 to June 2019 and served on the Executive Committee and as Vice-President. She was active on the Quality Assurance, Patient Relations, Discipline and Fitness to Practice Committees as well as the Registrar & Executive Director Performance and Compensation Review Committee, and the Audit Committee.

Outgoing Committee Appointees

Council appoints Registered Dietitians to work on committees. These dietitians help develop College regulations, programs and policies through their work on committees but they do not sit on Council.

Krista Witherspoon RD was an appointed committee member from 2015-2019 and, during that time, served on as Chair of the Registration Committee.

Renée Gaudet RD was an appointed committee member for two terms, from 2015 to 2019. During this time she served on the Legislative Issues Committee.
