Position Summary
The College is seeking a creative, curious and dedicated individual who can nurture strong internal relationships and serve as a key facilitator for the College’s communications channels. The Bilingual Communications Officer reports to the Director of Communications and is responsible for crafting the content for various communication channels, including website, social media, email and more, in both of Canada’s official languages (English/French).
The successful candidate is the team lead on French content production (translation coordination, proofreading, writing) for policy pieces, corporate communications, websites, social media channels and other pieces including reports, brochures, videos, and presentations. Major Duties & Responsibilities
This position involves a wide spectrum of responsibilities including but not limited to:
- Updating and managing the College website including content, navigation and brand management.
- Executing the College’s social media plan, maintaining the social media calendar, developing social media posts, hashtags and messages; and tracking social media metrics and campaign results.
- Developing and editing College communication materials such as e-blasts, newsletters, annual reports, and more.
- Coordinating, creating and distributing broadcast emails to members and stakeholders.
- Identifying and researching opportunities to enhance College communications through a variety of media, including digital platforms and tools.
- Collaborating with the Communications Director to identify communication needs and opportunities.
- Co-ordinate translation of materials with external parties ensuring delivering according to quality standards and timelines.
- Updating and monitoring the website to ensure content is current, relevant and accurate.
Qualifications
- Post-secondary degree in English, Communications, or equivalent combination of liberal arts education and communications-related experience.
- Proficiency in French required.
- The position requires communications or copywriting experience.
- Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communications skills and ability to communicate messages in a professional and engaging manner.
- Experience writing for various forms of media, including websites, social media, annual reports, e-blasts/newsletters.
- Exceptional organizational abilities and time management skills, ability to meet deadlines, multitask and prioritize.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop and InDesign).
- Working knowledge of Content Management System software and HTML editing.
- Demonstrated experience with social media channel development, maintenance and measurement.
- Strong research and analytical skills, interviewing for content and message, and tailoring messages to a variety of audiences.
- Familiarity with the health and/or regulatory sectors is an asset.
- Experience with video production software and editing is an asset.
Compensation & Benefits
Salary range: $58,220 - $76,000 per annum commensurate with experience and full benefits. We currently offer the opportunity to work from home (hardware technology is provided) with occasional in-office collaboration at location in Toronto.
