The College of Dietitians of Ontario (the “College) is the governing body established by the provincial government to regulate the practice of dietitians in Ontario and exists to serve and protect the public interest. The College protects the rights of the public to safe, competent, and ethical care by ensuring that dietitians maintain professional standards of practice and are held accountable.


The College is seeking to retain Registration Committee Consultants to conduct credential assessments of applicants from non-accredited programs. Accountable to the Director of Registration, the Consultants will conduct academic and practical training equivalency assessments comparing the documentation submitted by an applicant to the Canadian standards for dietetic practice, as outlined in the Integrated Competencies for Dietetic Education and Practice (ICDEP). 
The work will be done remotely, via a secure electronic document management system. Successful candidates will receive the required training and tools used to conduct the assessments. Consultants will have flexibility in their work hours, provided the assessments are completed and a report is submitted to the College within a pre-determined time frame (typically within 4 weeks).
Start date: April 2022
Time Commitment: Approximately 20 hours a month, 6 times per year, coinciding with the timelines of preparing application files for the College’s Registration Committee meeting dates.
Duration: Estimated 1-2 years, or longer as the College’s Registration Regulation permits credential assessments.
Compensation: $50/hour


  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a registered dietitian in Canada
  • Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of the Integrated Competencies for Dietetic Education and Practice
  • Understanding of the registration pathways for internationally educated applicants
  • Experience as a preceptor and/or working with internationally educated dietitians is an asset
  • Experience working in an educational setting is an asset
  • General member in good standing with the College of Dietitians of Ontario
  • No perceived conflict of interest with external groups (e.g., the dietetic professional association)
  • Ability to read and write French would be an asset

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks to meet deadlines
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Quick learner, able to gain understanding of the College’s stakeholders and credential the assessment process efficiently
  • Proficient with computer applications such as Microsoft Office (Word and Excel), use of secure document management sites, video conferencing platforms, etc.)
  • Ability to navigate through multiple electronic documents at one time
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to show good judgement and maintain confidentiality
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
