The College of Dietitians of Ontario (the “College) is the governing body established by the provincial government to regulate the practice of dietitians in Ontario and exists to serve and protect the public interest. The College protects the rights of the public to safe competent and ethical care by ensuring that dietitians maintain professional standards of practice and are held accountable.

Position Details

Position: Registration & Administrative Assistant
Supervisor: Director of Registration
Type: Sixteen (16) week contract, 35 hours/week
Rate: $20 per hour
Location: Remote with some occasional work in the office at 5775 Yonge St., Toronto

Position Summary

The incumbent will take direction from the Director of Registration to support the registration department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review and enter data into the College’s iMIS database, ensuring integrity and validity of registration information and accurate display on the Public Register.
  • Contribute to database testing to ensure functionality and make recommendations for improvement.
  • Add documents and certificates of registration in the members’ PDF files.
  • Monitor and update existing data when required.
  • Perform data searches and retrieve data for team members upon request.
  • Ensure appropriate turnaround time on all data entry.
  • Any other duties commensurate with role as required by the Director of Registration.
Position Overview
The position will be funded in part by the Government of Canada, Youth Employment Strategy, Canada Summer Jobs initiative. The applicant must be:
  • Between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of the employment;
  • Be a Canadian Citizen, permanent resident, valid work permit, or study permit that permits employment, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment; and
  • Have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations.
Our Ideal Candidate:
  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program, preferably in public policy, administration, business, or data/computer-related field
  • Previous administration work experience
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong MS Office skills – Word, Outlook, Excel, data entry
  • Knowledge of protocols and legislation regarding the protection of privacy of individuals
  • Ability to grasp information quickly with a high attention to detailExcellent communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Motivated self-starter, good organizational and analytical skills
  • Willingness to complete repetitive tasks
  • Ability to work independently and with teams
  • Knowledge of both official languages is an asset
  • Fully vaccinated against Covid-19 virus
