Patient Relations

Through its public education initiatives, the Patient Relations Program provides information and services to help Ontarians understand their rights as consumers of dietetic services. The program:

  • provides information about how the College works in the interest of the public for safe, competent and ethical dietetic services by dietitians.
  • maintains a Sexual Abuse Prevention Program.
  • maintains a system to provide funding for counselling and therapy for clients who were abused sexually by a dietitian.
  • ensures staff is trained to handle complaints of sexual abuse in the event that a dietitian sexually abuses a client.
