At the College, we take process very seriously. Proper process is foundational to ensuring that the decisions we make are fair and defensible. 

Under the Cannabis Act, 2018, the consumption of recreational cannabis became legal on October 17, 2018. 

On May 1, 2018, new sections of the  Protecting Patients Act, 2017, which amended the Regulated Health Professions Act, 1991 (RHPA), came into force. One of the new provisions which directly affects dietitians is the expanded definition of a patient specifically within the context of sexual abuse.

Does the College have any requirements for how RDs should accept client referrals in their dietetic practice?

We all know that record-keeping is an important part of good client care. But, record keeping can sometimes feel like it’s too time consuming and tedious, taking away from other "pressing" work such as client care or meetings. Good record keeping habits can actually save time and be more efficient for client care.

Using the title dietitian in Ontario is prohibited under the Dietetics Act, 1991, unless a person is a member of the College of Dietitians of Ontario. See the names of new members and of members who retired, resigned, or who were suspended between May 26 and November 6, 2018.
