Districts 3 and 4

Welcome to the New Councillors

Due to vacancies, Council directed the Registrar & ED to hold elections in District 3 and a by-election in District 4.  Here are the results.

District 3

Denis Tsang RD, Elected Councillor

Denis is a Certified Diabetes Educator and Quality Improvement Decision Support Specialist supporting multiple Family Health Teams across the Toronto Central and Central Local Health Integration Networks. Denis is passionate about improving the health outcomes of Ontarians through evidence-based clinical practice, data-driven decision-making, and integrated and coordinated patient care.
 
He has served as Acting Chair of Dietitians of Canada Ontario Family Health Teams Network and the Lead of Diabetes Community of Practice at the Association of Family Health Teams of Ontario. Denis was recently awarded the Member Recognition Award (Leadership) by Dietitians of Canada and the Preceptor Award of Excellence by Brescia University College.  

Disctrict 4

Kerri Labrecque RD, Elected College Councillor by Acclamation

Kerri received her Bachelor of Science in Nutritional Sciences at McGill University in 2007.  Most of her career has been at The Ottawa Hospital, where she has worked in clinical settings and in leadership roles.  She became a Certified Diabetes Educator in 2010, completed Management Foundations in 2016, and became an expert in The Ottawa Hospital’s Quality Improvement Framework in 2019.  Her profound interest in quality improvement has enabled her to work on many quality improvement projects, co-author a peer reviewed journal article, and serve on The Ottawa Hospital Board Quality Committee.

Kerri has been an appointed member of the Inquiries Complaints and Reports Committee of the College since 2015, and is now the Chair of that committee.
