CDO is seeking feedback on proposed amendments to By-law 2, which would impact CDO’s fee structure.

The College of Dietitians of Ontario is undertaking public consultations to obtain your feedback on proposed changes to By-Law 2: Fees and rationale table.

Annual Fee
CDO proposes an increase to the annual renewal fee from $641 to $654 for 2023. The proposed fee is a 2% ($13) increase from the current fee, which has not increased since 2019. The Board will annually review the fee and where the Board deems it appropriate, the annual fee may be increased by no more than 2% each year, rounded up to the nearest dollar. This increase will serve to balance the need to maintain adequate resources for CDO to fulfill its regulatory mandate while not imposing undue financial hardship on registrants.

Certificate of Authorization Fee
The certificate of authorization fee currently aligns with the annual fee. The College proposes an increase to the certificate of authorization fee from $641 to $654 in 2023. Similar to the annual renewal fee, the Board will annually review the fee and where it deems appropriate, the certificate of authorization fee may be increased by no more than 2% each year, rounded to the nearest dollar. The proposed increase will continue to align the certificate of authorization fee with the annual renewal fee and help provide adequate resources for CDO to fulfill its regulatory mandate.

SDL and Certificate of Authorization Late Fees
The College proposes an increase in fees for late submissions of the SDL tool and renewals of certificates of authorization (for professional corporations) to 20% of the annual renewal fee. The proposed change will provide better cost recovery and will align all late fees with the current late fee for annual renewal.

Fee for Emergency Certificates
The College proposes to add a fee for the Emergency Class registration as well as a renewal fee. This will seek to mitigate the cost to administrative resources. The by-law also proposes the option for the Registrar to waive the application and/or registration and renewal fees based on the emergency circumstances.
