Council Meeting Highlights - June 2019

Election of Executive Committee for 2019-2020

The members of the Executive Committee 2019-2020 were elected as follows:
  • Lesia Kicak RD, President & Chair
  • Teresa Taillefer RD, Vice-President
  • Marie-Louise Chartrand
  • Trina Pearson RD
Council also appointed dietitians to committees and approved committee compositions.

College Governance Review

Several colleges have undertaken a review of their governance model with a view to modernize their governance structures. After some discussion, Council directed the Registrar & ED to hire a consultant to help facilitate a governance environmental scan and a review of the College’s governance model to determine whether Council should move forward with plans for changing its governance structure.

Policies: Prevention and Handling of Harassment or Abuse

The Registrar presented the recently-revised policies on Prevention and Handling of Harassment or Abuse and Prevention and Handling of Violence. The College takes all possible steps to prevent all forms of harassment at the work place. Harassment or violence of any nature is not tolerated and any complaint is investigated and dealt with promptly.

Welcome to New Public Member, Pavel Tomilin

Pavel Tomilin has been working in financial services for a number of years and also has extensive experience in coordinating events, fundraising and campaigning.

Mr. Tomilin's community involvement includes organizing an annual WW2 veteran parade in North York, an annual “Taste of Russia” festival at Mel Lastman Square as well as various charitable events for newcomers and families with underprivileged children.
