Did you know? The College of Dietitians of Ontario offers a series of webinars called Reg Talks to help dietitians maintain a safe, competent, and ethical dietetic practice.

These webinars are free and helpful resources providing dietitians with an opportunity for shared dialogue with the Professional Practice Program staff. Each Reg Talks webinar focuses on a specific theme to support your practice, from writing SMART Learning Goals to understanding Jurisprudence Education and much more.

The webinars are generally provided in English. They will be recorded and shared on this web page. Please register early if you are interested in a particular session.  We invite members and students to attend these Reg Talks webinars and we hope you will join us online!

Join us for our next Reg Talks webinars, where we will explore what counts as a practice hour!

All eligible members of the College of Dietitians of Ontario annually declare whether they have practised dietetics for 500 hours or more in the previous three-year period. In addition, Council recently approved the Practising Dietetics Policy to help dietitians reflect on their practice and respond to reporting currency hours at renewal (September 1 – October 31).

The College’s Professional Practice Program will hold a one-hour Reg Talks webinar on applying the Practising Dietetics Policy.

We will examine:

  • What are currency hours, and why is this important?
  • What counts as a practice hour?
  • Whether redeployed work during the pandemic can count as currency hours
  • Practical examples – we’ll work through some goals together
  • Question & Answer Period
