The College of Dietitians of Ontario (CDO) is pleased to announce the appointment of Brenda Murphy as a public member of the CDO Board of Directors by Order in Council.

Brenda is a graduate of the University of Toronto with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Literature. She lives in Simcoe County with her husband and two dogs.  An avid equestrian, Brenda enjoys golfing and teaching yoga and meditation.

“It’s a great honour to be appointed to serve as a director on CDO’s Board,” said Brenda. “As an avid mental health and holistic health proponent, I’m looking forward to bringing my unique perspective to the Board and its future strategies.”

Brenda is the author of Interior Consciousness: Healing From The Inside Out (2021). The book details her long journey of recovery from a traumatic event. She speaks to large and small groups about mental health awareness and a holistic way to live a full and robust life.

The Board is responsible for governing the College and regulating Ontario’s dietetic profession in the public interest. It sets the College’s strategic direction, monitors its activities, establishes by-laws, standards and regulatory policies. The Board is composed of approximately 14 councillors — eight elected dietitians and five to eight members of the public appointed by the government.
