Karine Dupuis Pominville, RD

Acclaimed in Council Elections 2021, District 5

Karine's three-year term on Council will begin at the June 2021 meeting.

Karine graduated in 2014 with a Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition from the University of Ottawa. After graduation, Karine chose to return to Northern Ontario to live simply, grow her own food and be close to her family. She found a love for farming small animals with her husband. Her family has also grown since returning with a one year old daughter and another one on the way, any day now!

Since then, Karine has been working as a Registered Dietitian in Kapuskasing at the Centre de santé communautaire de Kapuskasing et région. Working in a small community in Northern Ontario, Karine has had the opportunity to work in many areas of dietetic services such as long-term care, acute care and community setting. This opportunity has brought a wealth of experience in nutrition services.

Karine strongly believes in community engagement and applies it in her professional and personal life. She currently sits on a local administration council as well as her local service board and is a volunteer firefighter for the village of Hallebourg, where she currently resides. She also participates in many different committees to promote the health and wellbeing of the community. Karine is very eager for the opportunity to join the council of the College of Dietitians as it is a great way to make an impact on quality dietetic care and public protection in Ontario.
