About the College
The College of Dietitians of Ontario was founded in 1991 through the Dietetics Act, and became a regulatory body on December 31, 1993.
Its mandate under the Regulated Health Professions Act, and the Dietetics Act, is to regulate the profession of dietitians in Ontario in the interest of the public and public protection. The College sets and enforces standards for the qualifications, registration, continuing competence, conduct and ethics of Registered Dietitians in Ontario. We assist people in Ontario to access RD services and handle their questions and concerns.
There are approximately 3600 Registered Dietitians in Ontario.
