Farewell to Council Members

The job of the Council is to govern the College and regulate the dietetic profession in Ontario in keeping with the statutory duty and objects set out in the Regulated Health Professions Act, 1991. We wish to thank Diana Balicsak, RD, and public appointees Shelagh Kerr and Marie Louise Chartrand for the dedication, wisdom, and knowledge they brought to College work. We wish them well in their endeavours.

Shelagh Kerr served as Councillor on the College Council for two terms from December 2014 to December 2020. She brought professional wisdom and expertise to her work on Council and the Executive Committee as well as the following committees: Registrar & Executive Director Performance and Compensation Review, Audit, Legislative Issues, Patient Relations, Quality Assurance, and Registration.

chartrand.jpgMarie Louise Chartrand, Public Appointee

Marie Louise Chartrand was appointed as a Councillor from October 2017 to October 2020. The College appreciated her passion for public protection as well as her thoughtful and insightful contribution to Council and committee work. Marie Louise served in a leadership role on the Executive Committee and worked as a committee member on the Quality Assurance, Registration, Registrar & Executive Director Performance and Compensation Review, Audit, and the Inquiries, Complaints and Reports Committees.

Diana Balicsak RD

Diana Balicsak, RD, was an elected member of Council from June 2018 to November 2020. She was a great thinker and contributor to the work of Council and committees. She served on the Professional Practice, Quality Assurance, Registration, and the Inquiries, Complaints and Reports Committees.
