Teresa Taillefer

It is with great enthusiasm that I run in the 2024 - 25 election. I have developed a passion for governance and public protection as evident by my past and current experience on the College of Dietitians of Ontario (CDO) board and as a board member on community boards in my hometown. I have completed a term previously as a Board member and am currently completing a term that became vacant last year.  I served one year as the elected Vice-President.

Professionally, I am a Registered Dietitian with experience in public health, clinical, administration and quality assurance.  Academically, I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Human Nutrition; a Master’s degree in Health Studies in Leadership; a Lean Green Belt certification in Six Sigma Process Improvement; and a Canadian Certified Patient Safety Officer Program certificate.

My knowledge and skills for effective governance have developed through my experiences and training offered by CDO and other organizations. I have participated in effective governance, strategic planning, financial, board evaluation and equity, diversity, inclusion and belonging training to name a few. I demonstrate commitment to the board member role by robustly reviewing all documents and briefs presented, asking questions for better understanding, respectfully listening to the opinions and thoughts of fellow board members and by making decisions based on evidence and known or possible risks.

I look forward to serving the public on the 2024 - 25 Board.
